Omega-3 and Alzheimer Prevention?

Omega-3 and Alzheimer Prevention?

Please understand that Alzheimer's disease is expected to triple in the coming decades, and there is no cure yet.

Neuro-Imaging using Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography  (SPECT) can measure blood perfusion in the brain.  A recent study involving SPECT was published in the Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease. It showed positive relationships between Omega-3, brain perfusion and cognition.

What this research of 166 participants in a random sample shows, according to lead author Dr. Daniel Amen. Md. is “a correlation between lower Omega-3 fatty acid levels and reduced brain blood flow to regions important for learning, memory, depression and dementia.” Co-author William Harris, PhD adds that this study leads us to the possibility that cognitive function could be favorably affected by simple dietary changes.

In other words, simply increasing Omega-3 fatty acids in your diet may very well maintain and improve our cognitive function as we age and help avoid the Alzheimer epidemic.

And, luckily, Grass fed beef is loaded with Omega-3’s! As well as a balanced ratio of Omgea-3’s to Omega-6’s. That’s just one benefit of grass fed beef.

Grass fed beef is lower in saturated fat and overall fat. Meat produced from pasture is up to 4 times richer in Vitamin E than grain fed cattle and contains much higher levels of conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), a nutrient associated with lowering cancer risk.

Lets all stay healthy and mentally fit. Eat more “clean” foods with Omega-3’s like flax seed, walnuts, salmon and grass fed beef.

Health is wealth!

To your mental health!
